A gorgeous Calathea plant that is endowed with a beautiful pink marking in the leaf veins and underbelly particularly as a young plant, reminiscent of dipped in rose colouring. Each leaf creates a vibrant textured look that emanates the aesthetics of gentle swift brush strokes. It is native to the Northwest of Brazil and will grown to an average of 50 – 80 cm, and is an easy friend to care for.
PLANT ME
In a pot or in the ground with moisture retaining soil and high grade potting mix.
KEEP ME IN
Somewhere very warm, or hot & humid with very bright indirect light.
PUT ME OUT
Somewhere humid with bright light indirect light, and temperatures above 16 °C.
WATER ME
Regularly once planted and for the first 12 weeks. Mist plant regularly with water spray if humidity is low, and wipe leaves witha damp cloth to clear dust.
FEED ME
Every 3 months with a fertiliser rich in nitrogen.
I LIKE
Very hot and humid climates, I will not do well in cold, dry or frosty conditions.
